Welcome to the new school year at Vineville Academy of the Arts. I am thrilled to be a Panda and look forward to a fantastic year! What an honor it is to be here with you. I come to Vineville after serving 20 plus years in education. I was born in Miami, Florida and moved to Georgia 10 years ago. My educational experiences have inspired me to hold many different roles in education. I taught for over 10 years in Miami-Dade County. During my tenure there, I taught multiple grades: first through fifth grade and taught Montessori in a public school setting. During this time, I earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and a Master’s Degree in Montessori Education. I earned a Specialist Degree in Science Education and a Doctorate Degree in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction.
As we begin this year, we face new academic challenges. As the assistant principal, I will work to support students academically, socially and emotionally. I believe in the potential of each student, and realize we are not just preparing them for the next grade, but for the future. I believe in setting high standards for everyone, starting with myself. I also believe in teaching the whole child and providing opportunities for them to grow in the classroom.
I am excited about the possibilities that this year will bring and proud to be part of PandaNation. Let us have a great school year together at Vineville Academy!
